又一名教頭，確定落腳處，前雷霆總教練布魯克斯(Scott Brooks)跟巫師隊達成協議，以5年3500萬美金(約11.09億台幣)，接掌巫師兵符。

巫師這季41勝41負，以東區第十位、無緣晉級季後賽，球季結束後，開除教頭惠特曼(Randy Wittman)。球團總管格倫菲爾德(Ernie Grunfeld)希望可以找到帶領陣中年輕雙衛的教頭，所以布魯克斯雀屏中選。

布魯克斯執教雷霆7季，338勝207負，勝率高達6成20，2009至10球季贏得年度最佳總教練，帶領OKC連續5季闖進季後賽，2012年殺到總冠軍戰不敵熱火隊。而2014至15球季，由於主將杜蘭特受傷，球隊戰力大打折扣，沒有晉級季後賽，布魯克斯因此丟掉工作。

巫師球團這步棋，外界都認為，他們今年夏天想藉由布魯克斯，吸引將成為自由球員的杜蘭特(Kevin Durant)加盟。但聯盟專業人士分析，巫師不期望布魯克斯可以拉攏杜蘭特，是從長期規劃，決定跟他合作。

另外，原本正為季後賽奮鬥的火箭隊，最有機會搶下布魯克斯，但巫師以薪資和運作空間勝出。火箭很有可能改追求前名教頭、現任球評小范甘迪(Jeff Van Gundy)。
